Millions of Americans shoplift and most can be helped to stop!
|
Welcome to Cleptomaniacs and Shoplifters Anonymous!
Our purpose is to
provide safe, confidential and non-judgmental
places for compassion, understanding
and recovery from "addictive-compulsive"
dishonest behavior, primarily shoplifting,
fraud, kleptomania and embezzlement.
-
Cleptomaniacs
And Shoplifters Anonymous (CASA)
is a unique, independent
and secular weekly self-help group.
It was founded in Detroit, MI
in September 1992 by a recovering
shoplifter who felt such a group
could help himself, others, and
the community as a whole.
-
The
Shulman Center Program
has been continually evolving
and fine-tuning from its earliest
successful results. Typically,
90% of our clients enroll in and
successfully complete the basic
program structure:

“How
much is your life worth?”
“How
much would you have to steal
to finally feel satisfied or
to make life fair?”
“Are
you living the life you thought
you’d be living?”
|
Common reasons why people
shoplift/steal:
- To express feelings of
anger, revenge, or entitlement
- To fill a sense of emptiness
due to grief or loss
- To try to make life seem
fair
- As a thrill or high to
escape problems, numb feelings,
or ease depression
